Att: Request Panelist from IPTPI and APPJJI for International Seminar
On 17th-18th of May 2010
We firstly send you our warmest regards, and may your health be in best conditions ever. Amen.
Secondly, it is a pleasure to share with you our last successful IPTPI (IKATAN PENGEMBANG TEKNOLOGI PENDIDIKAN INDONESIA) National Seminar on 18th-19th of 2009 at Auditorium of Directorat of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and National and our one-day Workshops at SEAMOLEC, Pustekkom, Universitas Terbuka and in Kebayoran LabSchool. It delights the Minister of National Education, Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Nuh, who gave the Opening Speech as it is also highly appreciated by Prof. dr. Fasli Jalal, Ph.D., then Director General of Higher Education.
Relating to the experience, we certainly need to deepen and widen our experiences, at least regionally and internationally speaking. Therefore, we are honored to informed you that we are planning to conduct International Seminar on 17th-18th of May 2010 featuring the theme Integrating Technology into Education and conducted in collaboration with APPJJI (Indonesian Professional Association of Distance Education) and supported by 5 universities (Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Terbuka, Universitas Widyatama, Universitas Bina Nusantara, Open University Malaysia), SEAMOLEC and Pustekkom.
We believe that the state of the arts of educational technology in Indonesia is currently more like a movement albeit prestigious one rather than an established field fully understood both by its professionals and its clients. Therefore, a concerted effort to support it is in dire needs. Integrating technology into education is, we hope, a kind of exploration to full together all elements of professionals and clients in aiming at a certain agreements as to where we should develop from our current situations. It is anticipated that the Seminar will be attended by about 350 participants from all over the world. The Seminar will be held on 17th-18th of May 2010 at Auditorium of Directorat of Higher Education, Ministry of Education.
In the Seminar, the Minister of Education is expected to be available for the Opening Speech. Keynote speakers from all over the world will be invited to participate in the Seminar. Prof. dr. Fasli Jalal, Ph.D., Vice Minister of Indonesian, National Education, Prof. Dr. J. Michael Spector, University of Georgia and President of Association for Educational Communications and Informations (AECT) as well as Thomas Luschei, Ph.D. from Florida State University has confirmed their availability as keynote speakers in the Seminar. Several other noted figures abroad and in Indonesia would also participate in the Seminar as keynote speakers and panelists. Thus, not least in importances is that we would be very grateful if you would be assign panelists discussing any of sub themes as follows.
1. LRC (Learning Resource Center), Distance Education and Educational Technology
2. CPD (Continous Professional Development) and Educational Technology
3. Teacher’s professional education and Educational Technology
Other acceptable abstracts and papers discussing the other sub-themes will be presented on the Seminar only if there are spare time. Otherwise, the abstracts and the papers will be published in Jurnal Teknologi Pendidikan that soon will be launched or in Jurnal Pendidikan Jarak Jauh.
